Sandy High School FFA takes home awards at state convention

Sandy High School FFA students went to the Deschutes Fair & Expo Center in Redmond for the 2024 State Convention from March 21-24, attending workshops, meeting new people and participating in a range of competitions. 

"We are beyond proud of the members who competed," said Trisha Smith, FFF Advisor, after the event. "We look forward to traveling to Nationals in the fall!"
The FFA students earned these awards:
  • 3rd place Ag Issues team - Faith Koester, Kay Jones, Cailyn McMillan, Gracie Baker, Aspen Schildmeyer, Reagan Schwenk and Tori tagliafico
  • 1st place Marketing team - Allie Koester, Gracie Baker and Cailyn McMillan
  • 1st place Agriscience - 
    • Kay Jones and Gracie Baker 
    • Cody Christie 
    • Grace Snyder 
  • 1st place Job Interview - Kay Jones
  • 1st place Advance Public Speaking - Kay Jones
  • 1st place Diversified Livestock Production Proficiency - Henry Bennett 
  • The marketing team, Kay Jones and Henry Bennett, and Agriscience participants all qualified for Nationals in Indiana
